Dear Roses,
The Prologue to The Song of Songs has become my favorite song of praise to the Bridegroom. I have come to know Jesus as my Bridegroom through reflecting on how I encounter Him through my senses, through my relationships, through the Sacraments and sacramentals, through the beauty of art, nature, and music, and through the many little blessings and “proofs of His tenderness” that He showers upon me daily.
My spiritual director, Father Michael Stalla, speaks of the daily little blessings and consolations that God showers upon each of us throughout our days as “kisses from Heaven.” Pondering God’s thoughtfulness towards me as “kisses” has deepened my faith and understanding in the truly intimate love of the Bridegroom for me… for my unique heart.
My gratitude journal has become a song of thanksgiving for all the many tender kisses of love, laughter, beauty, joy, and peace that my Jesus and my Heavenly Father blow from their hands to my heart.
“Dear Jesus, open the eyes of my heart, Lord… May I recognize Your kisses from Heaven in the beauty and blessings all around me. Amen.”
I look forward to sharing with one another how we are coming to know Christ as the Bridegroom of our souls through the proofs of His tenderness and kisses from heaven.
Together in His Heart,
Laura

The Prologue
THE BRIDE
“Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth. Your love is more delightful than wine; delicate is the fragrance of your perfume, your name is an oil poured out, and that is why the maidens love you. Draw me in your footsteps, let us run. The King has brought me into his rooms; you will be our joy and our gladness. We shall praise your love above wine; how right it is to love you.” 1:2-4
If you have not yet “met” Father Michael Stalla, my spiritual director and spiritual advisor of Hope’s Garden, here is his brief introduction to Christ the Bridegroom.
