While anyone can make this consecration by purchasing the book, reading the 9-days of novena reflections and prayers and then reciting the consecration commitment found on the Consecration Certificate, this page provides information for setting up your environment for an extra special consecration!

Preparation

Pour holy water over your hands and forearms, as a reminder of being washed clean and made new by Christ’s Living water in the nuptial bath on the day of your baptism. We recommend that you participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the day of your consecration so that your wedding garment will be beautiful for your Bridegroom. If the Sacrament of Reconciliation is not available to you, consider making an examination of conscience and sincere act of contrition.
If desired, after the holy water, apply rose scented oil (or unscented oil) to your forearms and then sprinkle with gold glitter.

I pledged myself to you and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord God, and you became mine. Then I bathed you with water…and anointed you with oil. I clothed you with embroidered cloth and with sandals of fine leather; I bound you in fine linen and covered you with rich fabric. I adorned you with ornaments: I put bracelets on your arms, a chain on your neck…and a beautiful crown upon your head. You were adorned with gold and silver… – Ezekiel 16:8-12

FOR MEN

FOR WOMEN

Your Wedding Garment

“For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Galatians 3:27. You may pre-purchase a white veil, shawl or handkerchief and have it placed upon you (or place it on yourself), symbolizing being clothed in Christ’s grace and dignity.

Rings

The ring we suggest is imprinted with verse 6:3 of The Song of Songs, “I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine.” In the Jewish wedding tradition, the bridegroom places the wedding ring on his bride’s right index finger as he says, “Behold, you are consecrated to me with this ring, in accordance with the laws of Moses and Israel.” The wearing of this ring is another reminder of your consecration to Christ, the One, True, Eternal Spouse of your soul and that your relationship with Him is at the heart of all other relationships.

Unity Cross

The Unity Cross symbolizes the spousal relationship between Christ The Bridegroom and His Bride, the Church. As baptized members of His Church, we are all called to respond to His gift of self-sacrificing love with the gift of ourselves. Wearing or placing the Unity Cross on a key ring or Rosary beads is the perfect reminder of your consecration to the Bridegroom of your soul.
